UK-REACH-SVHC · : In force Updated
: June 2026: HSE added new substances to the UK candidate list, diverging further from the EU/ECHA list — re-screen articles sold into GB.
UK REACH maintains its own candidate list of substances of very high concern, administered by the HSE, separate from the EU/ECHA list. The June 2026 update adds new substances (including plasticisers and a flame retardant used in plastics). If an article contains a candidate-list SVHC above 0.1% w/w, suppliers must provide safe-use information down the supply chain and answer consumer requests within 45 days.
• Screen articles (including packaging components) against the current HSE candidate list after every update.
• If an SVHC exceeds 0.1% w/w in an article, inform business customers and provide safe-use information.
• Respond to consumer information requests within 45 days.
• Track divergence from the EU list — a substance can be listed in the UK but not the EU (and vice versa).
